Portfolio - How to use it when applying for jobs
For all students at AAU CPH
10.04.2019 kl. 12.30 - 15.00
At this event we will hear from different speakers regarding how a portfolio could be made.
- What is the employers priorities regarding a portfolio?
- Is there a wrong way of doing it?
The value of career portfolio
For years, creative professionals such as architects, designers, artists and writers have used portfolios to communicate their abilities by displaying prior work, either done for employment or for leisure.
In today’s competitive, knowledge-based labour market, other professionals are discovering the value of a well-put-together career portfolio and AAU Career meet an increasing number of students who ask about portfolio.
You don’t need to be in a creative field to have a portfolio.
Just think about things you can show and tell. It might be a flyer for an event you worked on, the brochure for a program you volunteer at, or something else.
The overall objective of the portfolio is to provide support for the information included in your resumé. You don’t just have to speak about what you have done; you can also demonstrate what you have done.
The guide to a great portfolio
We have invited the two unions; IDA (engineers) and PROSA (IT professionals) and Danish Broadcasting (DR) who hire creative people for their design division. Together with at least one other company, they will guide you to a great portfolio.
The event contains both speaks and actual guidance from the speakers. You will be able to get feedback on your current portfolio or talk to them about how to make a good one.
Remember to sign up (and tell you fellow students about this)!
